Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil/Structural Estimation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation & Quantity Take-Off (QTO):
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil and structural works.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and pricing.
Develop Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdowns for projects. - Project Cost Analysis & Budgeting:
Develop preliminary and final budget estimates for projects.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and optimize project costs.
Conduct value engineering and risk assessments. - Coordination & Technical Support:
Work closely with the design, procurement, and construction teams to align cost estimates with project execution.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients for project feasibility and costing adjustments.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and technical discussions as required. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain estimation records, pricing databases, and cost history for future reference.
Prepare and submit cost reports, variance reports, and cost forecasts.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and contractual requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in civil/structural estimation, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, or estimation software (Candy, CostX, PlanSwift, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards (IS codes, ACI, ASTM, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor interactions.
